Even though we went to the cider mill/apple orchard already with Grace’s preschool, I wanted to make sure we went at least once this year as a family.
I’ve posted before about how much I love our annual tradition of going to the cider mill. The fresh cider and crispy hot donuts are enough for me, but my girls love all of the activities in the kids area.
We decided to go after church yesterday so we could be sure to secure a pumpkin before Halloween this year. Last year I don’t even think we ever got one and two years ago we waited and waited and ended up carving a half rotten pumpkin in December!
I mean check out this pathetic jack-o-lantern!
The dark helped it a little, but not much! LOL
That nasty jack-o-lantern cracks me up every time I see it!!
We didn’t want a repeat, so we went to the cider mill yesterday, despite the afternoon crowds. All in all it was a nice visit. A far cry from the days I wanted us all to have on cute outfits and get ideal pictures, but nice nonetheless :)
I was looking for a post from last year, but apparently I never blogged about that visit, so I grabbed a few shots from Instagram to jog my memory…
It’s crazy to me how much changes in a single year. Both girls are so much bigger now! So am I for that matter ;)
Here are a few iphone pics from this year’s visit:
In my humble opinion, Blake’s Cider Mill has the best donuts around. Crispy on the outside and cakey on the inside. There’s nothing like them hot out of the oil!
Poor Avery inherited her mama’s signature “grouch face” and I crack up every time it shows up in pictures!
This girl LOVES animals and continues to have no fear! I wasn’t fast enough to capture her touching the goat’s face, but she was all up in his business!
Grace continues to be obsessed with these face-in-hole boards and wants a picture in every one we encounter :)
The three loves of my life.
I snapped a quick selfie with my sweetie while the girls bounced in the inflatable pumpkin :)
Both girls feeling unsure at the top of the hay “mountain”
Family pic on the train at the end of our adventure :)
I’ll be sure to post proper jack-o-lantern photos once we carve the pumpkin we bought. Stay tuned!
