After being away this weekend from the house and from each other, yesterday was a really lovely restful day at home together.
We all slept in (hallelujah!) and after having french toast for brunch we settled into a super chill day around the house.
Andy spent time studying because, well, that’s the life of a med student.
Avery took an extended afternoon nap because she partied hard at grandma’s house over the weekend.
Grace was happy to have us all home, and super excited about the Kiwi Crate that came in the mail on Friday.
I spent much of the day reflecting on the retreat I attended and even tried to blog a bit about it before deciding the blog post was all wrong. I may pick it back up later this week, or maybe the things that happened are meant to remain in my heart rather than in a blog post. We’ll see.
In any case, I surveyed the living room as in the afternoon and loved the lighting and “ordinary-ness” so I grabbed my camera to snap a few shots.
I’m shooting exclusively in manual mode now and I’m loving the challenge of figuring out how to set my ISO, f/stop and aperture. This photography thing is my jam. I’m committed to practicing often so that I can learn how to take the kind of photos that I really love.

I have the same camera as you and have started photographing in manual, too! I took one B&W photography class in college, so it’s coming back to me…a little. Your photos have inspired me to incorporate more images into my posts. :-)

I love Grace’s decorations :) We might have to do a Kiwi Crate project exchange when we see each other.
