I just downloaded a new album from iTunes. It’s called Going Somewhere and it’s by Colin Hay. I stumbled upon his music a couple of months ago. I often listen to Pandora radio at work because it’s a free internet radio that you can customize to play the kinds of music you like. The coolest thing about Pandora is that it finds new music for you based on your favorite artists, bands and songs. I am a huge lover of Dave Matthews Band, so I entered that into Pandora and it started playing Dave along with lots of other artists with similar sounds. I have come to love some really cool songs by artists like Colin Hay, Ray Lamontagne, and Mat Kearney.
I’m sitting here right now in my musty basement clicking the keys at my computer, but I’m listening to my new Colin Hay album so I feel like I’m worlds away. I love how music has a way of stirring up our souls. It touches places that so many other things just aren’t able to. I remember reading a John Eldredge book that talked about how beauty is sometimes the only thing that can touch our pain. I feel that music, a form of beauty, is able to mend and stir parts of us that nothing else reaches. Certain songs excite us, others make us happy or sad, some songs cry out the angst that we cannot express, some calm us, some inspire and some make us weep.
God gave us music and I think that he wanted it to show us how creative and emotional He is and how he knows that the poetry of song is sometimes the best band-aid.

Okay, I could not listen to your songs but I was able to set up my own playlist. The problem is, it has to play through once, and it is choppy, then it works, but if I close it down and reopen it I have to do the whole thing all over again. I don’t think it is worth it. I need highspeed internet and soon!!!
XOXOXOX~Mom :)
i think your dial up would probably be too slow to play the songs. are you able to hear the songs from the player i just added to this post? let me know and we’ll go from there…
i love you!
Hey Honey… I want to learn how to listen to Pandora Radio. Do you think is is possible with my dial-up internet? I love the idea of discovering new music based on the types of music you love! I feel closer to God when I am listening to certain kinds of music. Well stated my dear…
