Andy’s grandpa passed away yesterday morning. He’s been sick for a few weeks now, but it progressed really fast and he went home to Jesus yesterday morning. He was a sweet man who was always good for a silly joke. He used to tell people how he gave his wife a 3 carat ring and he’d pull out a silly 3 carrot ring:
and he also liked to trick people with his “Quarter Pounder”. Andy said that they went to McDonald’s with him when they were young and he would tell the cashier, “I just need fries and a Coke because I already have a quarter pounder!”
I think it was more like a little hammer mounted to pound a quarter, but this was the only picture I could find of a quarter pounder gag.
Andy drove down to Indiana for the funeral. He’ll be gone till Tuesday night and I already miss him, but I’m happy that he gets a chance to be with his family and spend some time remembering his dear Grandpa VanCleave.

My condolences Rebecca, to Andy and you. His grandpa sounds a lot like Uncle Ed’s Dad, who was a real joker too. What a blessing that he was a part of your lives, and especially that you KNOW where he is now. God will give you comfort and you have such wonderful memories. I love you both. Aunt Becky
