Because we have such a small bedroom, I’ve been thinking of ways to make it easier to get around the bed. I was thinking we could move our bed (which we both don’t like as much as when we bought it…our tastes have really changed over the past 5 years!) upstairs to the guest room and move the metal frame down to our room. I figured we could hunt for a nice headboard and it would be a quick, cheap fix to our dilemma. One of the most frustrating aspects of our bed has been that I have to turn sideways and squeeze between the foot board and the wall to get into my side of the bed. Using the metal frame with only a head board would seemingly solve this problem.
Well, to make a long story short, we bought a bed over the weekend! We looked at all of the head board only options and didn’t like most of them. The one we loved was really sturdy, but would probably be somewhat unstable when screwed to the inexpensive metal frame that we have. I maintain that young couples should not have to deal with a rickety head board!
To purchase the entire bed (head board, foot board and wood rails) was surprisingly not much more than just getting the head board alone, so we decided to go for it! The employee discount sale that was going on really helped to seal the deal.
Yesterday evening we got it all set up and we love it! I can now easily navigate my side of the bed (but out of habit I still tend to turn sideways!). Here are some pix of the new digs! (to see a clearer version of the pictures, click on each one)

I really like the new bed! Great color. It is really similar to our bed but I think I like your color better. The dark dark color shows even the tiniest amount of dust. It looks great with your bedding.
p.s. I maintain that neither old nor young couples should have rickety beds:)

Oh my gosh… I love the new bed!! I can totally see why you bought the new bed, although the other bed is nice too, but I think the new one is warmer…
You guys are sooo cute…
I adore you both,
Love,
Mom:)
