I’ve had an awesome spring so far! I’ve been really, really, really enjoying the wonderful warm weather by spending time in my garden and on my patio. It’s been nice to see my outdoor skills get a little better with each summer that passes. I have been able to watch things I planted last year come back to life and bloom again this year! (with the exception of my hydrangea and my foxglove…may they rest in peace)
We’ve been busy as usual, but much of it has been stuff that we enjoy. Our annual trip to South Carolina (see pix in post below) was a wonderful time for Andy and I to reconnect with each other and set some goals for our future. My amazing tan has unfortunately faded considerably, but my memories of the week live on!
I spent a full 6 weeks without phone communication with my sister…boy was that harder than I thought! She and I talk almost daily, so not being able to just pick up the phone and chat with her was rough. Fortunately I was the one who got to pick her up at the airport and spend a long weekend with her as soon as she got back. We had such a great time talking and talking and laughing and shopping and eating. (all of our favorite things!) We also rented a movie (don’t rent the Bob Dylan movie, I’m Not There, it really sucked!), took a bike ride, went to the Festival of the Arts downtown (which I was way more excited about than Andy and Ellen combined), had lunch with an old friend, went to a Cash O’Riley concert with our cousins (SO MUCH FUN!!), and last but certainly not least, went to a Dave Matthews concert!! Andy and I went last year and it was nearly cancelled due to a thunderstorm, but the rain almost made it better. (we were at Pine Knob on the hill in the mud!) This year we went with a group of people and got there early and grilled bugers and hot dogs in the parking lot. We found a great spot on the hill and sure enough, it rained again!! I’m starting to think that part of the magic of his concerts (besides the amazing musical talent) is the rain! I totally recommend seeing him in concert as much as possible…I’m already hoping he comes back next year!
