I spent Friday evening making jungle decorations for the children’s ministry at our church. Everything was going really well. We were making these awesome vine, flower, fern, leaf and fruit covered boards to hang from the ceilings in our sunday school rooms. They will hopefully create more of a jungle feel to go with the theme of our ministry (It’s called Journey). We were busy snipping silk flowers and vines and hot gluing them to the foam boards when I accidentally aimed the glue gun at the ring finger on my left hand! The glue hit my skin and I immediately panicked and began swatting it off! The problem was that it had melted the skin on my finger and I had swatted off not only the glue, but several layers of my skin! Ouch!! Fortunately, my friend Ryan took charge and got me into the house with some ice (which I wouldn’t use because it hurt too much) and some Neosporin + Pain Reliever (which I believe was sent directly from heaven) and an awesome water lock plus finger wrap band-aid that securely wrapped around my finger multiple times. I’m recovering well, but check out the damage:

I can’t believe you didn’t tell mummy about it. You are all grown up girl!!! That is nasty. I would have been no help if I was there. I am thankful it is looking so good. Mom
Eeeeewwww… what a great photo! LOL Glad to hear/see it finally healing up! War wounds, soldier Rebecca!!! :)
That’s my girl!!
Ouch! I’ve done some similar damage with a hot glue gun, but not that bad. God will bless your pain Rebecca as you see the enjoyment the children get from all your efforts. I’ve got another picture for you to frame. I’ll need an old-fashioned frame. Just a “heads up.” Love you.
sick!! I’m glad it’s a blurry picture. ouch…
