I invested quite a bit of energy transforming my table and chairs into something that I would love instead of just something I got from the Art Van Clearance Center. It turned out really nice! I sanded the glossy finish of the wood with a rough sandpaper, then went over it with a finer sandpaper to smooth it out, then I painted on a coat of tinted primer, then two coats of flat black latex paint and then I rubbed on some Minwax Finishing Wax and buffed it in. Voila!
Wow! I can’t even tell it’s the same table. Which was the point, I guess. :) j

The table and chairs look great! You did a super job. So far no paint coming off? I always wondered how that was done. I never thought of waxing the painted finish. You can teach an old dog new tricks! Yeah!
I forgot to ask for the whole tour of the house, but what I saw I loved! Awesome job on the furniture there! Amazing! I bet Andy was so proud of you, wasn’t he? ‘Grats to you! :)
I thought that you bought the table and chairs, that’s how good they looked. I love your house!!
It sounds like you were very busy. They look awesome. I was just passing by and found your site. Wow.
