Ok, so the Colon Cleansing Kit arrived last Friday. I decided not to start immediately since Andy was leaving this week and we wanted to have a fun weekend together. Fun weekends mean food. (at least for us)
The initial phase of the cleansing process is a pre-cleanse. This is 3 days long and prepares you for the 5 day fast. On each of these 3 days you are instructed to reduce your food intake by 25%. This means that I should have reduced my food to 75% of my normal intake on Saturday, 50% on Sunday and 25% on Monday. I cheated. Right out of the hatch I cheated! I ate a little less on Sunday, but not 50%. On Monday I was pretty close to 25% of my normal intake. But this was only the pre-cleansing, so I thought I had the wiggle room. Plus, I’m tough…I can handle a 5 day fast without sufficient preparation! LOL.
Today is day 1 of the 5 day full fast. So far so good. I haven’t even thought much about food yet. I am thankful that I decided to cut way back yesterday, otherwise I think I’d be starving by now. I’m due for my next toxin absorber drink in about 10 minutes. Those are actually pretty filling and don’t taste bad like I thought they would. I opted for the peppermint flavor (I’m not a huge fan of ginger) and it tastes like a really strong, “herby” peppermint tea mixed with apple juice. The toxin absorber is a powder and comes in a packet that you mix with organic apple juice. This is the stuff that grabs onto all the junk in your colon to drag it out. YUM!
So far so good with everything. I did have some urgent diarrhea the other night, but by the next morning it had subsided. I probably shouldn’t have eaten the TCBY shiver on my 50% night! I’m sure that had something to do with it!
I’ve been having 2-3 bowel movements for the last day or so, and I should be up to 3-4 by tomorrow. That’s when things get interesting. My body is pretty much empty of food at this point, so it’s just the juice, toxin absorber, digestive stimulator capsules and water that my colon has to contend with. I’m also permitted to have some vegetable broth if I feel hungry. I prepared that last night and will probably have it tonight for “dinner”.
I really don’t have any exciting results at this point, but I’ll update each day in case you’re curious to hear how everything progresses.
