I am so excited that the day has finally come that we leave for the “Gould Annual Beach Trip!” Our plane leaves tomorrow morning at 7:30 am and I couldn’t be more ready to get up early to get there! It always amazes me that I can hardly get out of bed when I have to go to work, but if I’m doing something fun, I’m always up and ready to go…usually even before the alarm goes off!
We’re heading to Litchfield Beach. Litchfield is south of Myrtle Beach, and in my opinion, it is much nicer than the ultra commercial, slightly run down Myrtle Beach. Litchfield is peaceful and quiet and boasts nice condos and awesome sandy beaches. I’m really looking forward to an entire week of rest, relaxation and reading! I’m going to bring about 5-6 books with me just so that I don’t run out. Last year this trip was such a breath of fresh air after a long and difficult winter. This year I’m n0t nearly in the dire straights that I was last year, but I’ve been pretty stressed lately, so this will be a wonderful reprieve.
This area of South Carolina is so great because it has the tropical feeling of Florida, but it also has the great charm of the South. We do our grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly! When we need to buy alcohol, we get it from the “package store.” All package stores are marked with three big red polka dots! So cute!
