Last night after church Andy and I were talking about how excited we were to be at the brink of serving the body of Christ again. He and I both grew up in the church and went to sunday school, VBS, and the junior high and high school youth groups. Eventually, we got to the place in high school that we assumed student leadership positions. In college we worked as adult leaders in the high school groups. All of this added up to lots of blessings, fulfillment and many evenings spent at the church. After a while I think we both burned out. No fault of the church, just maybe our own balance. Anyway, we’ve been kind of hopping around for the past couple of years from our original church to a newer, emergent church to a home-church that we hosted and back again. We are both really feeling like God had us on that path to bring us to where we are now…at the begining of a church plant. We’ve both been getting more information and praying about it. We feel like we are the “young men” from 1 John 2. We aren’t the “little children” aka new believers and we aren’t yet the “fathers” who have known God for a lifetime. We are the “young men” who have overcome the wicked one and strive to move forward in our walk with God, allowing his word to abide in us.
But, we really believe that “young men” as John refers to them need to take their walk seriously. They really ought to be serving the body of Christ and not just expecting to always be fed. I can’t speak for Andy, but I think my hiatus from ministry lasted a little too long. I also think I slipped into the “feed me” mentality of church going. Only looking for a church that would meet my needs, instead of plugging into a church that is really pursuing the advancement of God’s kingdom and looking for ways I could serve others.
We both believe we have really found a great spot to plug in and we are so excited to see the journey that God will take us on.

I think that is among the such a lot vital information for me. And i¡¯m satisfied reading your article. However want to observation on few general issues, The web site style is wonderful, the articles is actually excellent : D. Good activity, cheers
