The title of this post makes it sound like there might be some kind of festive party happening over here at Casa de Gould, but that’s not the case.
Between my pregnancy exhaustion lately and the fact that I’m just not a die-hard Halloween fan, things are pretty darn low-key around here this year.
We did spend some time in the kitchen today making the 2 Ingredient Pumpkin Muffins I discovered on Pinterest last year. I’m not a boxed mix kind of gal, but these are just too easy to pass up! They’re pretty tasty too :)
October seemed to slip through our fingers this year and we didn’t even get a pumpkin!
That actually makes me kind of sad :( I suppose there is still time to get one and have fun carving it and roasting the seeds, but after today it just feels like it will be a last minute add-on or something. But who really cares, I guess. I know Grace won’t!
She is excited to put on her costume and get treats today, but she’s still young enough not to have many expectations for the day which is nice.
It’s crazy to realize that this is her 3rd Halloween!
It’s also funny to me that in 3 years she will have been a puppy twice! The first time around because we “inherited” a zip up puppy costume that happened to fit her and this year because her favorite toy is her Build-A-Bear puppy and I think this costume reminded her of him.
So a puppy again it is! Believe me, I tried to convince her to love the adorable owl costume we saw at Target, but she wanted nothing to do with it. This puppy costume was definitely “the one” so I graciously conceded.
I think she’s definitely the cutest puppy I ever did see :)
We’re off to the Halloween Parade in the Village for round one of trick-or-treating and then after dinner we’re heading to our friends’ house to trick-or-treat along their cul-de-sac. They know all of their neighbors which gives me peace of mind about the treats we’ll be collecting, and after spending Halloween with them for several years in a row, it’s become a fun tradition.
