I think I may have broken a personal record.

I’m 95% DONE with my Christmas shopping as of this evening!!!

It’s only November!  I didn’t loathe the process!  The malls were empty!  I found the things I was looking for!

Do you know what this means??

I may have to hang up my Grinch hat this year and be 100% merry.

It actually feels great.  I wasn’t bitter about getting official lists from everyone and having to hunt down specific items.  Why you might ask?

Because I didn’t ask for lists.

I shopped for things that made me think of the people I was buying for.

I call those kind of gifts “inspired gifts” and I think they are the very best kind.  Because as the giver I truly enjoyed the process.

And what I’m most excited about is the fact that I can spend December baking cookies, listening to Christmas carols and relaxing by the tree with my family.

Oh, and drinking copious amounts of eggnog.

I totally get why people are so proactive with their Christmas shopping, and I’m really thankful that I hopped on the bandwagon this year.  Grace and I actually had a lot of fun spending FIVE AND A HALF HOURS rounding up the majority of the gifts today.  I made sure to stop in the pet store to let her see the puppies (depressing as THAT is) and we shared a chocolate ice cream cone during the one break we took.

All in all it was a great day with my best girl and I’m feeling very merry about everything we bought.
