And when I say “me” I’m referring to my inner hoarder.
Today Andy and I spent the whole day sorting through all the garbage stuff in the basement and creating trash and donation piles. It was a slow, somewhat painful process, but we managed to throw away a few bags of junk and donate a carful (is that not a word??). You should have heard me talking myself into throwing away each “treasure” by justifying out loud why it was junk.
A Facebook friend compared the feeling of getting rid of household junk to losing weight and it’s true! I feel like a physical burden has been lifted now that all that junk is gone.
A few highlights:
Locating my grandma’s silver and finally putting it into the nice silverware box my mom got me for Christmas last year.
Donating 7 pairs of old shoes.
Throwing away our big box of old “costumes” that we will never fit into again, let alone think are “cool” enough to wear.
