On Saturday afternoon Grace and I attended my step-grandmother’s 90th birthday party.
You might feel all warm and fuzzy inside thinking about how special it is that my step-grandma made it all the way to 90 years old.
Well, in the words of her niece, “The ability to tell everyone exactly what you think and Smirnoff Vodka” are what have kept her going for 90 years!
Let me tell you, we don’t always want to hear exactly what she’s thinking, but making it to 90 is certainly an accomplishment so we all gathered to celebrate.
It was a casual affair at her condo, so I wanted to feel comfortable but put together. I’m feeling pretty pregnant these days, so I knew maternity pants were a must. I decided to wear these powder blue Gap capri pants handed down from my sister-in-law, Melissa. I paired them with a basic black t shirt that I scored for $1.99 at a Gap outlet a few years ago. It’s a large, but has always been roomier than most large tees that I have, so it was perfect for accommodating my expanding waistline.
I added a silver cuff bracelet from my mother-in-law, a long pearl chain necklace from Forever 21 and a pair of polka dot wedge sandals that I scored for $20 from JC Penny about 6 years ago.
We also went to the Ferndale DIY Art Fair yesterday and had so much fun! The weather was great, the crowds weren’t overwhelming and Grace had lots of fun.
Did you do anything fun this weekend?
I linked up with Mandy at Harper’s Happenings today, so be sure to head over there and see the other weekend ensembles :)
