I may have mentioned a time or two around these internet parts that I’m going to NYC for BlogHer12!
I’m super excited and still can’t really believe that it worked out for me to go this year. Last year was amazing and I really really really wanted to go again this year but just wasn’t sure if our circumstances would allow for it.
Then, the perfect storm of events transpired, and I’m going.
Woo hoo!
One of my favorite parts about the whole thing is that I’ll be rooming with Diana of the blog: Hormonal Imbalances.
I met her online last year before BlogHer and really connected with her. She’s so authentic, sweet and hilarious that it didn’t take much for me to start following her blog daily. She’s been through hell and back this year and has handled it with such faith and courage that I’m inspired by her all the time.
It’s going to be so awesome to get some face time with her NEXT WEEK in the Big Apple :)
This year is looking like it may be even more awesome than last year because I kind of know what to expect, don’t have such crazy newbie jitters and know a handful of people going.
One thing last year that stood out to me BIG TIME was how different people look in real life than they do on their blog/facebook/twitter pictures.
I mean we all choose ideal pictures of ourselves for profile pictures, so sometimes the every day, raw, in-person effect is a little different.
It’s not even that we don’t look good in person, it’s more that we’re moving and talking and breathing and it’s just different!
Or, some people are like me and their normal expression is a little, shall we say, cranky looking? Unapproachable, grouchy or worse could be said of us just going by this expression alone.
You know what I mean. Especially if you know me and have ever seen me just zoning out.
It’s kind of intimidating, but I promise I’m nice! I love meeting new people and I’m actually very friendly and outgoing. So if you catch me wearing my nasty face, just give it a minute and I’ll probably snap into a smile.
There will be other faces too…

Closed mouth smile trying to appear friendly. This smile is never as warm & inviting as I imagine it to be.

Wearing glasses to look smart. No, that’s not true. Wearing glasses to see anything farther than 10 feet…like faces, bricks, leaves on trees, etc.
So there you have it.
Some of my many different faces, not all gussied up or perfectly posed. These were all taken at the dining room table after getting caught outside in the rain at a sidewalk sale.
It’s just the real me.
If you’re going to be at BlogHer12 and you recognize me (even wearing the nasty face) please come up and say hi! I want to meet a bajillion new people this year and that means you.
Also, link up with these lovely ladies (thanks Baby Baby Lemon for coordinating the blog hop and Bebehblog for the great idea!) so that we can see your faces too.

You have beautiful hair and I can not wait to finally meet you! Yay BlogHer and NYC
Nice to meet you! Hope to see you at BlogHer!! :)
I always think my closed mouth smile is friendly too but instead it always looks like bitch face! Yours however is warm and inviting!! Hope to meet you next week!!
Ack!! See your face IN THREE DAYS!
Yay!! Can’t wait :)
My phone checking is pretty obsessive, too. And I make that same face while doing it.
I am so thrilled you get to go to BlogHer! I also think that every face of Rebecca is beautiful and to be treasured! Love you Cousin!
