I just read the following statement in an article on MSN:
Women who ate beans at least twice a week were 24% less likely to develop breast cancer than those who ate them less often, report Harvard School of Public Health researchers, who analyzed data from 90,630 people. Legumes may lessen risk of breast cancer, thanks to their ability to suppress the production of enzymes that encourage tumor growth.
This is good news for me since I grew up eating lots of beans and I continue to love them! Andy is a big fan of the musical fruit too, so we generally have a “beany” dish at least 2-3 times a week. I knew they were yummy and healthy, but I had no idea they were good for the boobs too!
Andy says
Honey, anything that is good for your boobs is GOOD with me!! Love ya!

We’ll let’s see, I’ve had split pea soup, lentil salad, refried beans, chi chi beans in my crab salad, and black beans this week, and I still have two days of the week to go… It is probably a good thing I am living alone right now, and Petey never complains!!!
Love and a hug,
Mom :)

I bet Matt will be so thrilled to hear this! “Honey, Rebecca told me I need to eat lots of beans!” LOL Maybe it’s all the laughter from the effects of eating the beans that actually fights the cancer?!? :)
