Well, Turkey Day came and went and it really was wonderful. We engaged in all of our familiar traditions and had a smashing time with my family. I made my first pumpkin pie and a really yummy pumpkin roll and both turned out great. Everything was just peachy till Friday night. My parents precious dog Petey provoked my allergies, so I had a runny nose for most of the visit, but Friday I developed a nasty sore throat. I then got runny again, it turned to stuffy, my head was throbbing from sinus pressure, I was achy all over and then I got a nasty cough! Dayquil and Nyquil became my best friends! That stuff is powerful! I had to come into work on Monday to put on a workshop for the teachers we work with. I’m the only one that can do that around here, so I sucked it up and worked from 9-6 on Monday. I felt like crap again on Tuesday, so I took the day off and stayed home. I got to watch Ellen and the view in the morning and Oprah in the afternoon though! I love those talk shows! Oprah made me cry! She bought a house and all new appliances and furniture for this dear woman who has three of her own children and she took in six of her brothers kids and she works non-stop at Starbucks and lives in a run down apartment in a bad neighborhood. Oprah also treated all nine kids to a 20 minute all-you-can-grab shopping spree at Toys R Us for Christmas gifts. The lady and her kids were so grateful…they were all crying and I just couldn’t help myself!
